You could try historical aerials!

I found this website called historical aerials

Check your state university library website. That might have old maps you can search.

Ok thank you!

Good luck and let us know what you find!

My 3x great-grandfather owned a house/small farm in the 1890s through 1950s in his later years. I was wondering if any maps or websites would know how to know the exact location of it. I know what county and what district it was in but its not that clear. Thanks!
What county and state?

Use old maps to narrow the location down, then detect looking for the iron indicating places where people were living and working!

Good Luck in your search! :icon_thumleft:

I found were the house stood. Its all underground for me to metal detect.

I see you already found it, but I use old census maps. Some go WAY back. My mother in law helped with the census in Kentucky for years. They marked where the houses where so the people doing the census could find the houses. I use the 1800"s maps about 80% of the time to find old places to Hunt.
