I was put in contact with a very nice, older lady, by a friend who knew I collected tokens. After a bit of discussion over the phone and her attempt to post some pics(unsuccessful), we decided on a price going off of what she was telling me she had(we actually talked on the phone a few times). I paid, she shipped and soon the package arrived... it was heavy.

I pulled out the ziploc bags of tokens, each containing some very cool examples of older mining towns in Utah. All the while I had my eye on a bank bag that seemed mostly full of something. The sweet lady had told me that her husband was able to go grab a bag from an old safe when a business shut down.

I got to the bag, poured out it's contents, and just sat and stared.... I don't even know where to start with this-

Any theory on why they are all holed?
Don in SoCal
My guess would be they was a type of check out tag. When the item was returned they would give them there tag back. Example they would hang them on a board for the item took

How many pounds did they all weigh ???

What a MONSTER haul !

I would think check tags would have all different numbers on them. These are "good for" 5c and 10c, so, merchant tokens IMO.
