So during the last storm at the beginning of the month I hit westside beach in Malibu. First day I made out pretty good. I got 3 pieces of gold and some silver jewelry. The second day I got to the beach right after work. When I pulled up and parked I noticed 2 other guys getting there detectors ready. So without even getting out of my work clothes or changing shoes I rushed out to the waters edge and low and behold 4 other guys. Damit. So I walk out and start working mid slop. Not a lot of targets. I did notice some tractor tracks leading Down the beach and nobody was hunting it. When I got there I noticed that from the waters edge they pushed up a ton of sand. I’m guessing to keep the road from washing out. I started pulling up Big led weights. 3 in a row then another all within about a foot square. But the last one wasn’t a piece of led it’s a Big Marines ring 16.7 grams 14k. All together I got 27.8 grams of that lovely yellow buttery gold goodness. As for the silver I got 6 dimes 1 quarter 4 silver rings and a cross. I detected for about another hour then called it quits. As I was leaving I spoke with one of the other guys. He said that the day before there were close to 20 guys out there. Most of them he said found gold and silver. Maybe one of them found my pinpointer I lost the first night.
