I only had a couple of hours to hunt this afternoon, so I went to a local park near our vacation rental. On a hunch, I went to the far end of the park by the dumpster and landscape debris piles and started swinging. First signal with the Equinox was a solid 25-26 tone, and dug a 1955D wheat penny about 4” deep.
That set the pace for the rest of the time digging old style beaver tails, copper pennies going back to 1965 & 1968 and a 1979 dime. Pretty much told the tale of just how little this park must be detected.
We only have three more full days left befor heading back to NE Ohio and our own bed, so I’m not sure if I can get back here until next year. We’ve booked three weeks for next February, so I’ll get to work more of the parks here and in Fort Myers. Tomorrow we’re hitting the Fort Myers big beach, so that should be a good 5-6 hours of hunting. Hopefully it will be a good hunt, but hunting in shorts and sunglasses beats the snow hunting I’ll be doing when I get home.
Big trash day today as well!!
