Took an Excal to a swim beach that they have lowered the water level for the winter. Needed to use the Excal because of all the hot rocks at this place. Found two broken thin gold chains and two dollar bills on the sand. With the metal detector I only found 5 nickels and nothing else before I had to leave to get something to eat. I looked hard for any small pendant that might have been with the chain, but no luck. Had a nice day as it was warm and sunny and nobody else in sight.

Sandman,
At least you were out doin it. Ya can't catch fish if you don't go fishin. I am often surprised when I find what I think is going to be a great place to hunt, only to walk away with little or nothing to show for it, then hit some nondescript spot because you can't come up with anything better at the moment and hit the BIG prize. Low water levels get you salivating I bet. Nice outing, even if you didn't come back with the big haul. I bet there's some gold down there waiting for you. - Jim
