Took my little electric mule out into the mountains where several mines are located. Very obvious place so not surprised that there weren't many good targets.
I did manage to find silver, and a few other keepers.

The ding on the dime wasn't me, I swear.

Some of the usual mine finds...
The cartridges are .44 S&W and .40-82 W.C.F.
The latch is a pretty ornate piece.

Cool little ev. Whats its average range?
Question 2 Can you find Silver nuggets there or was it fine or only in the ore?

great finds all around, love that barbie too, wtg

1. Around 60-70 miles, with a top speed of 55mph
2. Stamp mills were prevalent, so I'm thinking it was in ore.

Finding silver always ( and I mean always) makes my day. Congrats on your finds. Looks like great country to detect. How many miles away from civilization did you have to travel? PS- Love the bike!

Cool looking place to detect, well done on the silver and relics.

Nice finds, and congrats on the Barber dime !

About 1 1/2hr drive, then 10-15 minutes on the bike. Could have saved 20 by driving through the Vegas rat race directly, but screw that! :laughing7:

Nothing quite like silver! Hope you find more.

It's part why I didn't return the Legend yet, I know it finds stuff, renewed faith in it though from your finds, oldmxrat, great finds man!

It regularly picks up those little clothing rivets from 6-8 inches down in heavy iron trash sites, even with recovery all the way up to 10. I'm sure there are detectors that will do better, but by how much?
I don't feel like I'm missing much.

Interesting that the silver was mined, smelted (presumably) minted far away, made its way back to a silver mine and you found it there, at "home"!
