Hello fellow addicts, I'm a traveling Contractor for a National Retailer, and have finally been put on a project that leaves me enough time to hunt out on the road. I posted about two weeks ago showing my finds since the start of October. I have found four more Silvers and thirteen Wheats since the last post. I was in Virginia this past week, but didn't hunt as much as I would have liked. I did pick up a new E-trac from Sgt Rikers in Ashland Va though!! Today was the first time I hunted with it, and found a 1936 Merc, and 13 Wheats. The first coin I dug with the Etrac was a 1920 Wheat, second was the Merc. I emailed a forum member in the Lynchburg area last week to ask about parks over there, and he was kind enough to invite me on a hunt with him at a 1830's Manor. Jamesbibb is a super cool guy, an Expert with a DFX, and was gracious enough to invite me, whom he had never met, to what he thought was a unhunted Manor. The ground was super hot there, (Red Clay) I can't remember the last time I experienced such hot ground. He Schooled me and my Explorer with his DFX, I couldn't even hardly find a threshold tone, constant nulling. Anyway, have managed to hit a few random parks since then, and have found one Silver and a few wheats at each one. 17 Silvers, 3 Indians, and 66 Wheats since the beginning of Oct. I just arrived in Pennsylvania today, and hope to have some more good finds soon!!............Happy Hunting

Last picture is of Forum member Jamesbibb right after he popped the 1898 Barber. Apparantly the place had been hit, as it only produced the Barber, a no date Buff, and a Wheat. Spent a couple of hours there, with a DFX and an Explorer II, and that's all that was found.

Nothing wrong with those finds!! Nice work! Go get more!!!

That is fantastic. Hunting all over from state to state. Nice adventure!!

Nice Pile of Silver & Copper! Love It!
Keep em comin!

Great bunch of coins and your pictures are 1st class. The coin with the leaves around it is Great.

You know you can hunt anywhere if you can find relics in the Red Clay and hot soil of Virginia. It is a must to
be able to ground balance your detector in soil like that. I have hunted there many times and have had to
ground balance my detector many times in a hour, sometimes within a foot of the last target. Not every detector
will work in Hot, Hot, Hot Virginia soil. Not all area's of Va. are like that, but some are and that's where you find
the best relics. It also is a must to be able to hear those DEEP signals. Most of the finds close to the top of the
ground are long gone, but the deep signals are still there along with some really nice relics.

I have never hunted with the E-trac, but a friend of mine hunts with a Explorer II and has found some really nice relics in Va. I myself use a Garrett Infinium, Fisher F-75 and a Whites TDI, all Great Hot soil detectors.

Looking forward to more of your posts. HH, Ringfinder

It gets old, I'll probably spend 300 days in Hotels this year. I've been doing it for almost seven years now. I often work 80+ hours a week. This project is different, working 20-30 hours per week, but guaranteed 50. This is the first project all year that has given me the opportunity to hunt. Penn this week, NY next week, NH, and Maine toward the end of Nov.............would love to hook up with other hunters in those states!!

Hate to pirate away with a topic, so feel free to email me on this one, but a few of us novices might be curious...how does a deep signal differ from any other?
I use a white eagle spectrum which only has mono sound, and it is most likely different from detector to detector. But in general terms, are we talking just a generic chirp type of sound, or what? Reason I am asking is, there is a park in the town I live in that's been hit for years being one built in the 1890's. Perhaps if I can figure out this whole deep signal thing, maybe I can find a few targets others have missed.
