Had a few hours so went to what I call the mud beach again at low tide and managed to pull a 925 silver ring out. The one photo shows what is left of a penny. I thought it was a nickle it was all encrusted and when I broke it apart this is what was left of a clad penny. Don't count on finding these years from now!!

FOXTROT BRAVO
You have some good hunting sites there brother, keep em coming. There is nothing quite like the Jingle Jangle of a gold ring in the bottom of the scoop.

Bootybay, I tried again the two that were there are now replaced, just appears to be some sort of design?

Them clad pennies just dont handle the elements at all. Nice ring!

Bill, I think its chinese writings on it.. and boy I have no clue on that one.

Nice ring Bill. I believe it's Asian writing, of which language I don't know. It sure was down there a long time. How did you get it cleaned? The last time I found one like that it took me almost one hour in electrolysis.

I found a quarter like your penny there at Desoto a few months ago. I thought for a moment I had an old coin. It was very heavily encrusted about the size of a half dollar. On the drive home it dried out and cracked, out came just copper of quarter. You could see the design on both sides but it is as thin as a sheet of paper. The even more sad thing about it, it was one of the more modern states designs.

I bet there are a lot more there to be found where you are going. If you find out what the writing says on your ring let us know.
