Ha, ha... it's alright DB! It's not like finding treasure (i.e. Spanish silver, gold, bars, etc) doesn't race through my mind on a daily basis. Heck, those thoughts fill my mind more than I'd like to admit 'cause I too have a huge imagination!

But what you said about relics & artifacts, and who may have held it last... yep, that's exactly the right mind set (I think) in being really successful. In fact, since you're retired, you definitely have a one-up on me!! Time is probably one of the biggest factors in finding really awesome relics!! Again, just ask TEXANConnection!
It's really awesome that you still remember all your finds. Of course, it's always better if there are pictures to show off on TreasureNet... but I'm sure yours will come with time. At least you've already MDed (metal detected) before and kinda know the ropes. That should give you a really good advantage over those who just pick up a detector, try to use it, then get discouraged at their finds and shove the detector into the depths of their closet.
Just like my home state, and the one I've lived in now for the past 6 years... you also live in a VERY historical state (not that you don't already know that) and shouldn't have a lack of interesting places to detect. Since you've lived there for so long, I bet if you got talking to some of the old timer's around there, you may be able to secure permission to detect on some private property. If anything, maybe they'll tell you interesting things from history that no one else may know but themselves.
Again, good luck!!
