Hey guys. Man, I have been watching the weather up there and I am so glad I am back in TEXAS!!! Or at least Louisiana. I stayed at a plantation south of Baton Rouge while I did a job there. I asked the owner if I could hunt the property and he said sure. He told me that the place had been hunted alot but I am sure it hadnt been hunted with the etrac. I got up this morning and it was 30 degrees. I said that is perfect weather to hunt hehehe and went to town. I got near the plantation building that had been in its current location since 1928. It had been moved back from the Mississippi river after the devastating flood of 1927 by the Corp of Engineers to its present place. There was alot of EMI in the area but i perservered. I picked up a few roofing nails and then got a good quarter signal. I dug down and saw a gun barrel and the cylinder. At first I thought it was a real gun but it turned out to be a toy gun, probably from the 50s. I dug a couple of pieces of lead and was ready to move on. I worked an old tree and got a penny signal. I had been skunked to this point so I thought what the hell. I dug it and got a wheatie. I scanned a hole and got a dime signal. I reopened the hole and got a 57 rosie. I was ready to go and got a quarter signal and dug a Krewe of Rex token from the 1982 Mardi Gras parade. Overall, it was nice to get out but it would have better if my old buddy Dave would have been there to hunt with me.
I hope everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas. TMAN...
