Not from there but met a lady that does quite well on the flats above the Humbolt river, said wind exposes them.

most of that land is BLM and off limits to hunting. But I have done very well on private land of my relatives....Fallon, Silver springs, Stagecoach and antelope valley area in Washoe county. look around dry washes, hill sides, and promontories with good views of surrounding landscapes. also pay attention to the junipers, they are small and scrubby but are several hundreds of years old and were often used as bed sites. look for places in the desert that water would have collected but you would have to dig down a few feet to find.
