Beach hunters,
Anyone have any experience hunting the beaches of the Great Lakes during the winter months? Any tips you'd be willing to share?
Thanks, in advance, for any help.

Having survived several winters in Wisconsin I have a couple of tips I'd suggest. Dress warm, (coldest I remember up there was -28F without windchill, I'd also suggest a jackhammer as I would imagine the ground/shoreline to be frozen solid. The other tip I'd suggest is to wait out the winter in a local bar, (I miss the local beer).

Dressing warm in layers is a given. Hobbies are supposed to be fun and hunting the shores of one of the Great Lakes during the winter does not produce much fun. The shores of the Lakes do not have the soft sand of the coasts and they are frozen like concrete.

In spite of getting another MD for Christmas (2 now) and mastering the on/off function I'm not coming out until Spring (July) !!
