today I was out hunting the woods right across the road from our hunting district. Not even 10 minutes and I found my first coin. I found it very interesting that I found 3 historic decades. 1st coin is a 1 Reichspfenning 1876 (Kaiserreich). I was able to read the year by just spraying it with some water. The second find is a 10 Reichspfennig 1925 (Weimarer Republic) - man my hard started pounding when I first saw the color....GOLD?????? No, no Gold but a coin in a very nice condition. This is actually my second 10 Reichspfennig from that time periode but the other one is a 1924 and it is called RENTENpfennig instead of REICHSpfennig. The last find (much younger in time) is a coin from the 3rd Reich. It has to be one as they are usually so rotten that nothing can be read. So you can see how even German quality goes down the drain over the years. The old guys knew how to print some good quality coins.:icon_thumleft:

Nice finds Horst (and descriptions). Thanks for sharing...

Hi, nice finds. Congrats:icon_thumleft:

Nice finds. Congrats on some nice digs.

Congrats on the finds. The woods in NE Ohio yield shotgun headstamps, pull tabs, canslaw and .22 cal bullets that find their way down to 11-12”. :laughing7:

Very nice finds, Congrats!!!

Awesome finds that's a great day

Very cool saves!

Horst,

Nice hunt, like you, my pulse jumps every time I pull a gold reichspfenning out of the ground. Definitely don’t like the zinc coins - I have yet to find one decent coin of this type.

Good luck with your hunts.

Walt
