We had storm warning today, but with the warm wind and partly sunny it looked like perfect detecting weather first...
Ok, on the open field we had lots of fun. Never had to turn the volume up to 9, never had to run for the detector tumbling over the field after laying it down and never lost a button because it was blown out of my hand...up to 80mls wind speed. :laughing7:

We detected a random field just because we could and options are rare. It will sometimes work when the field is close to a village with some 800 year history.

Oh, the best last. The farmer stopped by when he was checking the fields for damage by fallen trees. We chatted a bit and i talked him into permission to do a dig in his farm next winter. Took me 5 years to get....
This farm is standing on a roman one. Dig a feet in the vegetable garden and you come up with so much pottery and roman rubbish you need a wheelbarrow....

Hi, wow nice hunt with some nice old finds. Congrats:occasion14:

That was a amazing hunt, some really great saves, congratulations on all

Wow really cool finds! Congrats! :icon_thumleft: I really like the button and the fancy buckle.

The button is also my fave find today. Not a common decoration here. The buckle unfortunately has some rust on it, anyway still one of the nicer decorated ones. :occasion14:

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Nice hunt Lu. Is the 1/2 mark silver? Nice haul of brass & lead for the scrap pile to help pay for the batteries. Best thing may be the new permission. Why do you say "American pottery"? Good luck.

Beautiful Silver Mark, Congrats on the permission ( looks like I will have to pay you a winter visit :laughing7: )
And good u had the lead with you in your pockets to hold you down so you dont get blown away :laughing7:

Thanks Tim, yes, silver and of better quality. Lots of musket balls in the field, probably shooting range long ago.
I said American because it looked like the flag on first sight.

What a great hunt, congrats! :icon_thumleft:

Wow I would hunt during a hurricane to find stuff like that. I would have a bungy cord connected to a tree or 2 then to me. Well done

I don't worry about gettin blown away in wind Lu. Dad always told me I didn't have to worry because I had enough lead in my as*.

Great hunt, definitely some very nice finds. I definitely remember the wind as I also was out on a field, didn’t find as many good targets as you pulled but I did find a couple of nice buttons and buckles. Good luck with your detecting.

Seems worth the effort to me & the permission to dig is great. I still have 1 garden left, although mine is a random trial hole, not a cert!
