Detector(s) used
Fisher 1266x and a shovel
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Few eagle buttons, what appears too be a money clip and part of a dagger all dug almost 3 feet in the ground! Thought that money clip was a ID tag at first heart was really racing!

Also I get messages almost once a week asking how too find hut sites or trash pits! Only thing I can tell you is I do a lot of probing and test holes! I will stick a probe down and see if i hit any ash/glass or pottery or I will find little depressions and dig a test hole and stick the detector down in there. I will also find small areas with lot of iron in it and then dug up the iron and then dig 5-10 inch holes and see if i hit any signals or ash/glass/pottery... Sorry if I did not respond too everyones message regarding how too find huts and trash pits I have made videos before explaining. HH

Amazing finds !!

An ID tag would have been the first thing that crossed my mind too. Maybe not this time, but with your persistence it will eventually come.

If you stick a probe in the ground, how do you know you've hit glass or pottery and not just a rock? What you do looks like a lot of fun.

Sweeet saves!!!!

When the soil gets pushed back up towards the surface you can see if there is any ash/glass or pottery. It really is something you have too learn out in the field if you never dug out a hut site before then it can be very difficult explaining what too look for! the main clue is ash and soil color and then seeing any glass. Main thing is digging out a test hole and seeing if you get any signals in the hole that is the fun part when you dig into a hut site and then you start getting signals 10+ inches in the ground. But all in all it takes seeing one being dug out then once you get the hang of it you can increase you're CW relics by 50%!

Good digs HSD!! Those square brass buckles from a 1851 sword belt rig are hard to find. I watched Dman dig one but I never have. HH, Quindy

What are those washer looking objects? Looks like something I just dug from an old farm field

Those are pieces off a knapsack!! If you're digging those up chances are you will be finding buttons very soon!

CW era? Mine is concave - not flat. I couldn't tell if yours were or not.

If you are able too get a photo of it and post it then please do so! I think i know what knapsack piece you are talking about and it surely should be CW era.

You sure thats not part of a scyth?Never seen a dagger like that....no tang, and sharp on the inside of the curve?
