I almost thought this was modern junk! Now what is it?

So I was going over some past finds. Going through, taking a better look at some finds and I come across what I thought was just a piece of modern junk. It appears to be lead, my best guess is its part of a lead stamp?

It might not be lead all I know is its not Magnetic.

Thanks! This has to be one of the better "come back later and take a better look at my finds" finds.... If that makes any sense. For the record when I found it,, it was caked with dirt. Through it in my bag thinking I was just modern junk.

My question is when did production stop of these type of stamp? Also my stamp is a bit fancier then the one Taz posted. I can see Liberty on the Eagles shield....
