I am new to metal detecting and this forum. I have a Garrett ACE 400 I have had it about two years only got to use it a few times before I move 2000 miles away from my home state of Texas. I am looking for a club or group to go metal detecting with and learn from been in Washington state for a year now. My work schedule has not allowed me the time to go do anything. In January that will change I will have the weekends to explore Washington.

Don't wait for a buddy though - there's nothing like swinging a coil.

First get a couple of plastic 5 gallon buckets and then put a sheet of cardboard or plywood across them for a table.

Then practice with various objects - don't worry, you'll get a lot of them in a short amount of time.

Look and listen to your machine as you sweep over them; it will be worth your time - in spades.

Welcome to TreasureNet from deep (about 6 to 12” in good ground) in Southern California. Good luck!
