Detector(s) used
Minelab Excal 1000, Tesoro Silver Umax, Tiger Shark and Whites MXT.
Well, I chose the Tejon after checking out all of its features and other detectors I figured this fit what I was looking for. Something I can put on my motorcycle or ATV and go. Due to the ground being frozen, I can only air test it at this time. I love it already and am anxiously awaiting the thaw. Tony at TC metal detectors was a huge help. He sells various brands, listens to what you are looking for and goes from there. He not only sells them, he uses them!

I think you'll enjoy that choice. Hope things thaw quickly for you.

You probably skipped some interum steps by going with the Tejon. Looking at your other detectors, you seem to strive for the top ones. When working with the Tesoro line, you might have skipped some detectors worth trying. A Euro went up on EBAY this last week that I would have loved to have a crack at. When dealing with Tesoros, I feel you should pick what your targeting, then pick a detector with the operating frequency that best matches your target. For example, I'm told they can sniff small gold as well as any detector.

Yes, I try to buy what I will want later. It gets expensive (more so) by constantly upgrading. I really like the features of the Tejon for relics and an occasional coin shoot. I looked at all of the Tesoro models (and other makes) and read alot about them. I have to say, I am very impressed with the following of this brand. I wanted a ground balance and I liked the dual disc. the Tejon offers. I don't think I could have gone wrong with the Vequaro either. I wanted a machine without the screen telling you what you have, as I enjoy the excal without the display. The displays have their place, but I find some rely to much on them and do not really get to know their detectors. Anyway, its all personal choice and as long as we have fun, that is what counts. :occasion14:

Make sure you get yourself some bungees for the battery doors.
You'll like that machine if you can put up with some erratic behavior every now and then.

It is a super detector, you made a great choice. I beat mine all over the woods and it has never failed me. There is not one thing I don't like about it - except maybe the color ;D

Congrats on the new detector. Looking for one myself.
