Hey everybody! Thought I’d put out a little update on my excavation operation going on at the house site on my property. I got out for about three or four hours. I was able to eyeball many non-metallic relics, found some nice ferrous pieces with the detector, and stumbled across a second lined C confederate button! I was able to get the back mark off of this one. It has a superior quality backmark and, considering it was found only two steps from the VMI button and the other confederate C button, I’d say they were off of the same jacket and are the same. I also found another nice flat button with an imperial standard backmark. Can’t believe I did it again with another confederate button!

Thanks for the congratulations everybody! Now I truly believe my theory that the rest of the buttons may be around somewhere. Gonna keep looking!

Fantastic buttons- Congrats! I agree with you that there's gotta be more- GL!

On your own property at that.....can't get any more convenient. All of your buttons are great, i like finding old lathe turned bone buttons, they can be earlier than CW. Your white porcelain buttons are called Prosser buttons and are post 1840.

With finds like that dig all the big iron too.....bayonettes and cannonballs lurk near confederate brass ;)

Congrats on an excellent Civil War button.
