I know many of you will know what I mean here. Today is a gorgeous day. One I would normally use to spend time with my beautiful wife. Unfortunately, she had to work. I always feel bad when she has to work, and I am off, due to my manly need to be the provider, not the providee. Since this could not be avoided today, I did what any good husband would do, I went metal detecting. I thought since she had to work, I would at least come pick her up for her lunch break with a nice selection of unearthed treasures for her viewing pleasure. You guys out there should be taking notes, because Valentine's day is this week.

Luckily, I didn't come up dry. The former mayor's yard I have been searching gave up these items including 5 tax tokens (that makes 30+ from this 1/8 acre site)(one of these has a screw through the hole in the middle), 8 wheats (including a 1914 (no d)), a 1944 canadian penny, two 1940 nickels, a tiny bottle with "owens" on the bottom and measurement mark along the side, a little compact that says "Robert Medium" on the bottom, a brighton garter clip, and some kind of weird thing.

I also have been hanging onto this 1916 (no d) mercury I found a couple weeks ago.

Hope you guys got out

I forgot to mention the silver rosie that is stuck to a wheat penny. It is exactly in the center, and stuck tight. I have no idea how to separate them. any ideas?

Great finds! I'm glad you got to get out. It was a pretty day here but I felt to lazy to do any hunting.

Nice finds..maybe the person who had the coins in his pocket got struck by lightning ;D Id check the area again to see if you could find silver fillings, a belt buckle or a ring fused to the bone of a finger :D

Seriously try boiling the dime/penny in water, certain glues dissolve in water. Hopefully someone else has more ideas. If all else fails you can always leave them as they are to show how they were found.

well not bad for a second chance treasure since you didn't get any time with your "real" treasure and she had to work. Congrats on a great day

Thats some good finds there. If you look close at the weird thing you will find a letteron the side. Its a piece of old type for printing press .
