I didn't find the Holy Grail I was looking for, but ....

at least I was able to find a little house site on a knoll and dug a few early buttons and a 1791 half reale. Looks like my research efforts over the last year in an attempt to locate a long, lost early-to-mid 1600s site still hasn't paid off despite having walked close to half of the 1400 acres belonging to the original land patents. It's out there somewhere, and I know I'm very close, but looks like I'll have to wait until the fall to resume the effort.

I think you are really close to the site and nice finds! You found half of a jews harp as well, 1700s for sure. And why wait till fall? Now is the best time to detect. HH, Mike

That's an awesome hunt Bill! The silver is sweet but that large gilted coat button is my favorite. With all of the research you do you're bound to find the site you're looking for

Fields are being planted and since it's been so warm they're able to plant a little earlier this year. There's still plenty of places to detect besides farm fields but the really old sites are in those fields.
