METAL DETECTING! I detected a public schoolyard alone yesterday morning for about 45 minutes. I did not even know this school existed until recently found it on an overhead map! I then met up with a friend to detect a private permission (1895 farmhouse.)

At the school, I found a pretty , marked .925, filigreed, heart shaped pendant wrapped up in a broken, plated bling necklace. It rang up a bouncy 66 on my ATMax and I soon found out why. There was also a pull tab in the plug. Glad I took the chance on it.

I also scored a pristine 1964 quarter at the old house. It was about 8-9 inches down and rang up a clean 87-88.

Other widgets and clad rounded out the day. Happy Hunting! Gonna stay in and not freeze today, as much as I would love to go out and dig again! Cheers, Sub 8-)

Thanks Trezurehunter! There are things that I can count like clockwork to find on schoolyards. Flattened penny tokens, butterfly/heart/unicorn/BFF jewelry, house keys, tokens, zipper pulls, and foreign money. I know I'm on the sweet spot if I start seeing those goodies! Sub

Nice finds!

Especially the pendant!

That is a pretty heart locket! I have found the exact same type of copper doodad that you have in your picture. What is it?

R&B, The oval items are two-piece twist (or turn) lock bases. They were on tarps, canvases, covers and ripped out with age and heavy use. Cheers! Sub 8-)

I don't care where you do it, as long as you clean it up.:occasion14:

Leave it like you found it! And nice find on the '64; I always find '65s! They must have made a billion of them!
