I don't need a detector......not really

well, i'm still expirenceing withdrawl (metal detector broke) so i pried up what i thought was a broken bottle, which turns out to be a whole bottle, it says " Norwich" on the metal cap, and is dated 1937 on the bottom. It is triangular in shape ( still in a cylinder). Any info?

Aspirin bottle....Now is the time to scope out your area...do that research on the robbers....look for old maps ....check out the bottle dumps and old foundations...going without your detector for a bit will bring you in tune with your own senses and sharpen your hunting skills....makes you rely on yourself and not the beep! Then plot all your hunting spots for when the detector comes back in!

Gypsy is right. Till you get the detector, learn all you can about the area and metal detecting. Subscribe to Western & Eastern Treasures for knowledge. Read more books on the hobby and study metal detector field tests so you can get the one that suits the hunting you want to do. There is no "best" metal detector for all types of hunting and areas. Some detectorists don't like to fiddle with knobs to get the max. use of their machine and can use a turn on an go type easier. Stay away from cheap store bought brands and Radio Shack junk. In my experience you'll be much happier with a detector from a major manufacture. Good Luck and Happy Hunting.
