Well, sort of. Vferrari and I went to one of my Civil War spots in Virginia today. The place has been hit since the 1960's. However, we're still too hardheaded to mention the phrase "hunted out". We had a pleasant 4 hour dig in 60 degree weather. Here are my finds. First photo is of a minie ball carved into a "bishop" chess piece. Second, a sharps bullet. Note the extra "cut" on the Sharps. I think someone started to carve it and stopped. Hence, Bishop Sharps.

I was pleasantly surprised to find an intact all brass equipment buckle and a second iron buckle. Two underwear buttons, a brass tube, use unknown, the back to an eagle button, three poncho grommets, some glass frags, a 22 cartridge that MIGHT be Civil War, although I doubt it and a whole wad of camp lead. I'm sure V will post his, after he gets off the ceiling! He got a nice goodie. He'll come down soon.
Tomorrow I officially retire! Gotta charge up the Deus!
