ACOJoe, Cheffer, and I went out for a couple of hours yesterday in the snow / freezing rain and unfortunately I got skunked. I went home, got cleaned up, and headed out to do a little shopping. This is a first for me, but I got an 1898 IHP back in my change!

I took today off from work and went back out to a spot of mine that has given up a coin or two. I had to actually swing the coil this time, but was fortunate enough to recover two nice dimes.

While I won’t complain if someone wants to just hand me an old coin, there’s something to be said for having to work for them!

Just the Indian alone is a day maker. The dimes add the icing!

Those are a couple of nice looking dimes. Getting an old coin like an Indian in change is just about as exciting as digging it. It has been a few years, but my wife and daughter were on a string of luck receiving silver Roosevelt's, and Merc's in change, and my wife even received an Indian head penny in change at an airport we were at. She always tells me she doesn't even need a metal detector. I'm starting to believe her !
