Good for you. Where I live, you have no mineral rights at all. If you struck oil, dug gold or silver out of your own land you wouldn't be entightled to any royalties.

Thanks to all you well wishers ! I wish I had pictures of my find but darn camera seems broke all I get are pictures of thin air. ;D ;D ;D

Huge congratulations!!! Since you gonna kinda sorta be in the fuel business ,see if you can help us with the gas prices. LOL

that's a VERY good lease. I have a few, and i get a lot less than $150 per acre. It varies depending on the land, but it is less. More importantly though is that MOST leases offer 1/6 the revenues as royalties. you got 1/5. That's sweet. Regardless of how much they pay per acre for the lease, the sweet spot comes "if" they hit, and getting 20% instead of 16% is a HUGE difference.

They treated you well. :-)

Good luck to you.

I had alot of leverage jrf, here in n.y.state they have this thingy called forced pooling, which is kinda hard to understand let alone explain but suffice it to say their application for a drilling permit placed my 300 acres almost dead center in their proposed 640 acre unit. Guess you'd have to see the map to understand, but my lawyers say their are alot of people who get this much and I could have gotten more like 1/4 but I would have to give up alot in the initial bonus payments. They say (the blood suckers that is)that there are some people in Texas And Oklahoma that are actually getting up to 1/2 royalties, but they are the people who own most or all of the land in a block or unit.

Congrats MD and just make sure they don't take over your property!

BTW...Montana Jim...greatest post ever!

Couldn't help myself, shoulda set it to the Clampett theme......hope you enjoy!!

Come and listen to the story of that MD Dog,
Sittin' on the porch when a car came from the fog,
A man come up the steps and he tipped his fine felt hat,
And he says "Hey if you own this land I'll make your wallet fat!"

Drillin' rights.......lease payments.....

'Ole MD Dog he says "I own it, yes I do believe that's me,
I own this whole plantation just as far as you can see"
"So hand me that ink pen and show me where I need to sign,
And you can take your piece of paper, I'll be doin' VERY FINE!"

Direct deposit........easy street......

Congrats and I hope they find lots!! ;D ;D ;D

VERY BIG CONGRATS MD Dog ;D ,,,,,ole buddy ,,,,,, lol ;)
