It has been a while since I found a silver half dollar. The first site produced a couple of wheat pennies and a silver half dollar and the second site was loaded up with wheat pennies but no silver coins. However, I did manage to find a bunch of clad coins, a dollar coin, 10 wheat pennies, and a sterling silver ring. I'm going to hit it again tomorrow if I feel like it. My new detector will be here Monday, so I might need to rest up some.

Tabman, Congrats you nailed it! Glad the half was a '64! What detector have you ordered?

Thanks! A 14kHz Kruzer with an additional 7-inch 'concentric' search coil. The Kruzer with that little concentric search coil will do some serious unmasking.

Wonderful Silver...!

Nice day of silver! Congrats :)

Awesome half!

Don't see many 64 Kennedy's posted- that's awesome! The ring's really nice as well- Congrats!

Thanks, Everyone! I'm thinking about hitting it again tomorrow.

We just don't see many Kennedy Silver halves dug and posted ( way more Barbers, Walkers, and Franklins ) Nice day out for sure !

They minted 400 million '64 Kennedy halves but they didn't circulate. The '64 was a "souvenir" coin. Two '64's have been found on here recently and both were in bezels. Gary

Thanks for the information! Probably some kid found it in their parents' drawer and then went outside and lost it. I feel special finding it! lol

Cool ring.

And any silver coin is a good silver coin.

Did you get your new machine, yet?
Macro Kruser 14kHz

Your Tesoro Cibola does punch it too,
and mine I use all the time, recovering most
of my good stuff,
by the sound only.....

It'll get here tomorrow. I've owned a Multi-Kruzer in the past and always kept it set at 14kHz, so the Kruzer 14 will work just fine for me and save me a few bucks. I'll probably only use the 7-inch 'concentric' search coil with it. I just love that coil and its unmasking ability. My Cibola has found me lots of good stuff. I'm in the market for a used Deeptech Vista X to see how it compares.
