I found a 1991 100 peso coin this afternoon and...

a '45 Merc. Same yard on Friday night found a 43d merc. buddy found a 1900 IH in sweet shape.

I've posted a few times in the Tesoro user forum but first post here. I 've had my silver umax for a few months and have found 3 silver rings, 1 pendant, 5 silver dimes, 1 IH and lots of wheats and clad out the ying-yang.

Anyone know anything about this 100 peso coin? It's a chunk. a little bigger around than a quarter and about twice as thick.

Sorry about the fuzzy pics. I tried to make them smaller but i'm a computer idiot. Lucky to get these up. First time photographing coins. I'm more used to arrowheads but I suck taking pics of them too.

Mexico changes it's currancy often. That 100 peso coin is obsolete and is only a collector item.

Love those silver coins with the black streaks running through them. You get that from being in the ground. We like to call them "tiger stripes". Nice finds!

it is a nice camera (10 years ago) olympus. I thought I had it on macro setting and didn't know it was fuzzy until I downloaded it.

Thanks for the cheers. There's nothing like seeing that bright shiny stuff looking back at you from the hole. 'Cept maybe some gold colored shiny stuff. Going to Port Aransas next week. Gonna try it down there a while. I'll post pics if I find anything worthwhile. Might take my buddy's Garrett AT Pro so I can get in the 1st gut

Your coin's composition is Aluminum-Bronze. The image is that of Venustiano Carranza, one of the leader of the Mexican Revolution, who, ultimately, became President of Mexico. Due to a 1992 currency reform 1000 old Pesos was converted to one New Peso (~10c U.S.). This coin, would then have been a 'penny' coin after the re-evaluation of their currency. Today, it has more educational than numismatic value.

I also found one of those 100 Peso coins about 3 or four weeks ago. Mine was dated 1992 My heart thumped when I first saw it which was part of a pocket spill containing 4 gaming/casino tokens and a Canadian nickle found at a grade school. Being new about this stuff........I was disappointed in it's value. Interesting history though. I'll make a post on it later but congrats on the rest of your finds........they are awesome!
