It's a belt buckle actually, and appears to be made of brass. Sorry for the blurry pic, from my phone. It is actually quite detailed. It was black and really dirty when it came out of the ground. I gave it a bath with vinegar and salt and a toothbrush. This was found in a new area for me. No silver yet, but some wheat pennies from the 40's and 50's, I can only assume it was from that era. There is no date on it. I thought it was a cool find...Hope you guys like it.
