looks like the center part of a stamped eagle tongue and wreath buckle. militia, circa 1840's-50's

Either that or a seal for a glass bottle.

I think it's some kind of lid. Depends on what it's made out of.

Civil War Uniform Buttons

Many buttons are made with a stamped metal part that covers the button. The size and thickness would be right for a trench-type coat. Thoughts????

I believe your Eagle piece to be a 1820s-1840s Shako cap side button or pin. Looks like you might be on to a cool camp site.
