its approx 3 in in diam it is depicting a american flag and a british flag crossed with a crown at top and anchor at bottom

No makers mark on it? (almost seems surprising, as it's pretty cool). If the weight seems right, then I agree with nsdq.

If its back isn't solid and flat, we need a photo of its back, and also a "sideview" photo.

Also possibly try to get a photo in natural light without the flash, It's an interesting piece for sure!

Can't see how many stars are on the flag. Could be revolutionary war? Or WWII? Has something to do with ships or Navy due to the anchor.
