I found a 925 silver ring at the Rodeo park this afternoon. When the metal detector beeped I could see the edge of the ring near the surface. I carefully dug it up so I wouldn't scratch it. When I got it out of the ground I could tell it used to hold some kind of stone. Usually I don't find those. I used my trowel to scoop some soil and there it was. I found it. It is large and blue. Is it a sapphire? If so, is it a real sapphire? The ring is stamped with 925 and a "D". It also has some small diamond looking stones on each side.

nice ring! i hope its a real sappire!

I hope it's a Sapphire RD....Great find.I might be silver illiterate but what's the "D" mark stand for?...HH!!

Glad you found the stone. I hate when I find a nice looking ring without the stone. Congrats on a great find.

Nice work finding the stone. When you're good, you're good. ;D 8)

Nice ring,

That almost never happens. Good job on the recheck.

Looking that little extra can have a big return. You have a beautiful ring a good little story.

maybe the D in the ring means it was minted in denver? lol
ya might beable to take yer stone to a jewler close by and have 'em run it on his metre to see if it's real, nice saphire btw if it is one,

Nice ring! Go get that stone checked and remounted...

you been getting pretty "stoned" lately lots of good stone mounted jewelry
or is that ringfinder?

Today, someone who didn't see the ring told me that the stone could be topaz. Does that sound right to you?

Congrats on the cool find. It's a good thing you were being careful.
Many times I have found rings with stones missing and never found the stone.

The "D" could mean diamond...but I doubt it because it's a silver ring. If it were 14kt gold, the stones have a more likely chance of being natural or "real" gems. Chances are it's a synthetic sapphire. Is it faceted/cut or smooth/cabachon? I can't really tell for the photo on this monitor. If it's cut, it may be a blue topaz or a synthetic sapphire.

Smiles!
