I found what I think is a claw foot copper military flag holder to stick in the ground. It has a hole at the top to hold nail to secure the wood flag pole to the claw. It's made of copper and tapered on the inside. It has 4 claws like an Eagle. The area I was hunting has been know to have WW1 items and War of 1812 items .... I would appreciate any information you can provide. It is my first one of these so I came to the
people who know /..............You Guys.... Any Help Would be appreciated.. It is cool looking.... Tks JIm

Cool find indeed! My buddy found one just like it out in the middle of nowhere on one of the emigrant trail routes in Nevada.
