I found this rock

Hello. I found this rock in an old shed; I have no idea what this stuff is. I do know it's not your every day average rock. Can anybody help me with the identify any of this stuff, please.

It looks like schorl tourmaline (black rods) coming out of quartz matrix with either muscovite (silver) or lepidolite (purplish lithium) mica. What state did it come from? Knowing the local geology helps a lot.
