I bought Steve Herschbach's DFX that thing is used but looks like new and works like new.. Thanks Steve . Now i have to wait for a while to try it out for we are having zero temps here this week . But who knows it might be in the 40's next week that is how it has been going here. But that will give me time to read the instruction manual.

Keppy you are going to really like the DFX.

The DFX is great machine, Enjoy!

Had mine for several years and it's my go to machine. Start with the presets till you are comfortable. Great selection of coils.

Yes the dfx is awesome. Been using mine for almost 6 years and love it. Just got a v3i to play with, but the dfx is staying with me.
Enjoy

You have a SH MD?? So lucky!

I've used my DFX since 2002 (13 yrs for those who are mathematically challenged) and have used it in Canada, Ireland, Australia, Israel, and New Zealand. No problems whatsoever. It's a great machine and I'm looking forward to the '15 season.

I'm gonna try to find a reasonable one for hunting CW relics. Wonder what the difference is between it and a vaquero as far as depth and anything else.

Happy hunting with your DFX. Have grown to dealt love the DFX. Its shocking what their selling for these days. A lot of detector for the money. If you haven't already done so, watch the whites instructional videos on you tube. Run. one of the programs that matches what your hunting. Increase AC sensitivity and pre amp and your good to go. Plenty of other adjustments you can make to optimize your hunting style and location conditions. Best of luck.

The DFX is a great machine. I recently got another one after buying, selling, and trading several detectors. After trying all the other ones, I came back to the DFX because I like Whites detectors and think they have the best ID and discrimination abilities. I went on my first hunt with the new DFX the other day and realized that I was going to have to basically start over again on the learning curve because I had my settings way to hot for the first hunt. With that, I recommend to stay with the stock program settings for a while before you start bumping up stuff. I do like to hunt in tone ID and I like VCO pinpointing and the DC Phase numbers on so I left those changes but ran my A/C Sensitivity down to around 65 to 68 and pre amp at 2. I took it out again yesterday with those settings and it made a huge difference. I know that I am probably not getting max depth with those settings but they sure are easier on the ears until I get the feel back for the DFX. I have a coin program and a C&J program saved that way. Good luck with your new machine and I hope you like it as much as I like mine.

I agree. Give yourself time to learn the DFX, and you will love it. For the last few months, I've been hunting with a friend that uses an E-Trac and he rarely keeps up with me on coin finds. We recently got permission to detect a small fenced-in area around a public swimming pool built in 1952. This spot had never been detected before! Talk about coin heaven! We have both done well, but I'm still finding quarters that he walks over. I'm not bashing his machine, but I think the DFX can hang with him anyday.

The DFX is a GREAT machine however it is discontinued to make room for the up in coming models of the MXT, the MXT ALL PRO as they call it is their next best thing they are pushing on the market which is the same machine as the MXT PRO to make it an ALL PRO they just put a sticker on it, yet the machine will do everything the high end machines will do and cost half the price and so easy to use even a beginner can be a pro now.

Congrats on the DFX, I'm waiting for spring here as I have a couple places lined up. HH

You will be happy with your DFX....programmable or not your choice. have fun

Think of the DFX as a classic Chevy or Mustang Mach I 1969 vintage
