I fineally got one of those magic half dollar coins. I didn't notice it at first but when i dropped it on the reject pile i heard a strange tink, not your normal klink. I picked it up and it looked like your normal JFK but the backside felt strange because it was missing. All I got was the machined out front, no back and no peso or pence coin. I counted the coins in the roll and I had to pay for that coin.
Wednesday I traded $300 in halves for $300 in customer wrapped quarters at my credit union. The manager needed $300 so she would have an even thousand dollars so she could send back my dumps from awhile back. I got 4 silver quarters out of them. I remembered her say she had $520 more so Saturday I went and bought them. These rolls were strange. Some were short some were over. Here are a few that I remember $9.25, $9.25, $9.80(nickel instead of a quarter) $9.75, $11, $11.25. Out of those rolls I got 2 more silver quarters, a Philippine one piso and a 2003P state quarter that is not clad. No sign at all of copper stripe, It does not look silver. Maybe it was struck on a foreign planchet?
And this is where I did not get cheated. OK, I set aside the 5 coins that were not going back into the rolls (nickel included) carefully counted and rerolled and came up with $520 I got all 5 coins for free!
Of my normal 2 boxes I got 1 90% JFK & 11 40% so I did OK. That brings up my Sept count to 62 halves. One more weekend this month. I am going to try for 6 boxes, already got 4 on order. I am going to try and get a back up bank to get me the other two.
