Hi everyone, it's been a while since I've been out with the detector, but the sun was shining for a change and the farmer has lots of fields going spare. The first field I went to this morning was about 10 acres or so and still a bit wet, but I thought I would give it a try. I did think it was a bit quiet for the first few yards, then I remembered to turn the headphones on
. Things improved straight away, turned the volume up, dug my boot out of the sticky mud and started finding stuff. This field gave me 2 sixpences, East African 10 cent coin, several pistol balls, a Navy button late 18th early 19th century and a French Jetton dated about 1380-1400 or so. I moved to the drier field next door and found a George III halfpenny, lead spindlewhirl and some other bits. I'm going to have a go at a couple of new fields tomorrow, weather permitting.
