Last night I was hunting a field at a local school built in the 1960s. My first good target was the Saint Christopher metal/charm the back says sterling no clue on its age maybe 1950s or 60s. I know the field was farm land back in the 1800s but I didn't expect to find anything to old in it because this particular field is not to close to the farm house that is still standing on the edge of school property. I was definitely wrong I got a good signal dug down about 3 inches and out popped my first LC. I'm still in shock it wasn't deep and it was about the last thing I expected to find at this spot. The coin was pretty crusty tried peroxide to get a date but no luck. The coin actually looks a little better in person and its my first so I'm thrilled. Thanks for looking and HH.

Congratulations! Your post today proves that everyone should hunt modern school yards and tot lots if they want to find the oldies. There is fame, fortune, and 200 year old coins to be found there.
