I Had A Blast Today Day 2

Went back the same spot that I found the other bone fossil from a giant ground sloth and found some nice old ,old artifacts This may be hard to see but this is a broken piece of a stone plate, found some other stone artifacts, scrapers and a crude cutting tool along with worked stone and pottery, like this piece of stone pottery that has iron concretions on it. this is a collection of all NA artifacts from today.Notice the clam shell piece, I also found a couple of hammer stones, but left them in the jeep. Then in the middle of all the NA stuff I find a load of prehistoric ice age animal bones buffalo, ground sloth and some I have not got a ID on yet.The largest bone is 18in long, weighs about 20lbs and comes from the arm of a giant ground sloth.

That stuff is so neat.Ever since I was a little kid I have always been fascinated with prehistoric bones/fossils.Just live in the wrong place to find that kind of stuff.

I thought I did also, I would find small stuff now an then, but lucked up with this new land. My buddies with the state of Ms.Natural Museum of History , think I have found were an ancient log jam was in an old river or stream, an the bodies of all these ice age animals piled up. it is very rare to find a spot like that. They are asking to come look but I told them not now, I still have some more digging to do. I really hope to find evidence of ancient man in context with these bones. A Clovis point sticking in a bone would do the trick.

That would be a good day, I have only found one old bone and somehow It turned to partial stone.

Those bones are so cool! I keep hoping to find some kind of ancient creature's bone. I found part of an antler (I think) today and it was sawed off for the points, maybe after it dries I will post for opinions. Anyway looks like you've found a great place to hunt.
