Some nice relic finds. I have not found any Civil War era bullets yet so I don't know much about them, what is significance of the star? Or do all the rounds have that?

The star comes from the swaging process. Not all bullets have them. Some have a US in them.

You're second hand place is better than my go to place. Nice finds
It wasn't my first choice but who knows what the other places have left. Before yesterday i hadn't hunted this spot. I was wanting to looking for cavalry relics.

Congrat's on some nice CW saves. Well Done, and yes, You Done Good!

Makes you wonder just how many pounds of lead was used in the war.
I just said to my buddy of how many cartridges they threw out. It seems like they didn't have ant problem with tossing out bullets.

I have always felt that many of these "Dropped Bullets" found especially at battle sites were dropped by the soldiers who were attempting to load and fire their muskets as quickly as possible, going to and from their cartridge boxes each time. The soldiers were trained to load and fire their muskets in 9 counts, being 9 movements (by the Hardees Tactics manual) each time they loaded and fired their muskets. All the while in battle, the Infantry would be loading and firing while they were under fire themselves. Anxious times to say the Very Least. God Bless them All.
