So I thought this was a civil war bullet that was cut in half or melted. It is shaped like a bullet. It measures 20mm diameter (.79in) and 25mm long (.98in). Too big to be a civil war bullet. What is this???

From your pictures and these old eyes, I would say you may have a melted bullet. Not at all uncommon in civil war sites.

I thought it was a civil war bullet as well then everyone shot me down because of the size. Anyone else got any ideas?

Guess I'll just take it to the civil war relic show in Dalton and see what they have to say there.

I didn't know there still was a club meeting in Dalton. There is one that meets in the old stone church and we have one that meets every last Thursday at Wally's on Ringgold road.

With all those indents on one side, it could be a palm guard. These were used to push a needle through leather. In England they were made by casting lead into a muscle shell.

I would love too but I'll be working a 12 hour shift that day. Maybe another time. Thanks
