pulled this from the honey hole today from around 8". Cleaned it up with a fingernail brush to expose what
looks like lettering and an eagle, theres a post on the back but not hook like similar to a button. Any thoughts?
thanks guys, Crusader you're correct it is a saw medallion, I would've never thought of that. I like it and plan on going back to see if I can find the other half and perhaps the saw blade too.
Maybe a W. Stephens, or Disston saw medallion, would be my guess. The eagle is slightly different, but very similar. The words should read "Warranted" on the top and "Superior" on the bottom... Which is what I see.
