I was gonna say the same thing!! It's been found at least a half dozen times every year, even by people who have never set foot in the mountains, and shockingly they all keep finding it in different places - some not even in the state of AZ!

There's only one story out there I know of that has gold ore to prove they found "something," and they are/were in a position to have it examined to see if it matched what's believed to be gold ore and/or the matchbox made from gold ore coming from Waltz himself. Am I certain they found the source of Waltz's gold, no, but then again I wasn't there, haven't seen it nor have I seen any analysis documentation. That said, the story has been out there for awhile and people talk.
