It is fun! Just wait until you try a sluice! :)
Congrats, and good luck!

Mr. Helton,
Good luck to you! Do a little research and be diligent. You should be able to find some there.

Michigan was covered by the same glaciers that covered Indiana for the most part, so you should find some.

I've heard good things about the Huron. Caution: do your research on the rules in MI, they are pretty specific about what you can do in many waterways due to fish concerns I think.

MI state land maps show where the state owns both surface and mineral rights, that can be found here http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/1,1607,7-153-10371_14793-31345--,00.html , then stay off of natural rivers and trout streams, those are named here https://michigan.gov/documents/dnr/Natural-Rivers-map_222954_7.pdf , and here http://www.michigan.gov/documents/dnr/CountyListing-LakesStreams_380748_7.pdf

Be careful,
That's how it starts.......

(and don't forget to season that pan!)

Thanks for the seasoning tip! I thought you were joking at first, like making a cast iron pan reference or something, but a quick google search and you're right! I would have had no clue had you not warned me!

Learning....... It takes a while but is quicker if you are ready for it.
