I just learned the hard way that the EQX 800 is no match for a Toyota Tacoma. Yep, complete bonehead move on my part. Every singe part on it sustained damage. I'm sick to my stomach now, so please excuse me while I go throw up :censored:

You know, I would have thought that an Equinox 800 would be able to detect a Toyota Tacoma with no problem.

Remember it's not the machine, it's the operator...:BangHead:

I did that to my Dad's favorite Steelhead Rod - Different nausea but I feel ya!

Sorry to hear that Coin! I'd feel the same way...horrible! Hang in there man!

I feel your Pain :(

I Really do.

I drove over My sovereign years ago.

Only destroyed the lower stem that I remember,
But didn't sleep well till I was able to get it fixed

So sorry, coinhunter...

OUCH! I can relate, a bit. Once we were packing the truck for a vacation, and while loading the back, I had laid a few things on the ground behind the truck, and then went inside to grab some more bags; my wife, not knowing that I laid anything on the ground, came out to back the truck out of the garage, and drove right over the top of the carrying case containing a laptop computer! UGH.

Sorry to hear about your EQX.

Steve

Steve, I was planning on contacting you. I'm going to need a complete new shaft assembly. I'm praying that the control head will still work. The coil connection pins inside are still intact, but the coil/wiring is toast for sure though. I'm gonna call Minelab in the morning to see what they might be able to help me with, if anything. Obviously not a warranty issue. Thanks everyone.

sorry to hear,good luck

So sorry. I am sure it just makes you sick.
Backed over one of my tool boxes once. Luckily it only destroyed the tool box. The tools survived!

Ouch! Hopefully all you'll need is the 2 things. Peter67, if you call Minelab they will or should send you another one free. Another friend of mine had the same thing. Bugger snapped right in half, he had another one in a few days. That also is apparently a known issue.

Thanks Steve, I really appreciate that! Tomorrow I'm getting a crown at the Dentists, and Kathy and I are getting married right after that, I hope I can still say I Do! I'll try to shoot you an email somewhere in between if I can. If not tomorrow, it'll be soon for sure. Thanks again.

(I am sorry... but that was funny)

PS... sorry to hear bout the EQ.

Sorry that happened to your 800.
That’s very cool of Steve to help out. Great guy! Good luck!

We've all made the same kind of mistake (or worse). Try not to dwell on it. Be glad it was a thing and not a person or pet.
