hi all,
So today i went to a new permission that is my detecting buddies but we have done a bit of a permission swap and now go to each others when you please. The site i was searching today has history dating back well into the saxon era and a saxon hoard of coins was found there a few years back! It was also owned by a very wealthy family for at least 10 generations so there is plenty of history on the land.

Last weekend i searched there for the first time and managed to find a few coins and a George iii bullhead silver sixpence which is a coin that i had been hoping to find for the last 5 years. I decided today that i would focus on the same area that it came up from but this time take a very low and slow approach with the Minelab safari.

First signal was a worn silver which is unidentifiable, second up was a silver and the third and fourth and so on.....

This is the first hoard i have ever found and all were found within a 2 foot radius of the first coin.

I used the Minelab safari set in custom mode of just audible threshold, all metal with -10 and +40 notched and auto sensitivity.

I hope you enjoy the video and of me uncovering my first silver coin hoard :)

Excellent hunt. Congratulations, what a great day, finding one of your bucket list coins then going back to find several of them. Thank you for sharing your hunt with the video.

"Sounds" great! ...But I have data limits - can't watch the video. :crybaby2:

That Safari is an underrated machine, used it for 2 years and absolutely loved the sound of silver under the coil. Congrats on the silver, post a picture of all the coins if you have the opportunity, many won't watch the video

Bainsey!!! You're a bloody animal brother! I'm always a fan of your hunts but this one is most excellent! Wowee!

I'll tell you something else. I believe Banner finds exist in many forms and this is one. I'm placing my vote Bainsey.

How about a photo or two?!?

Amazing Regency hoard! :treasurechest::occasion14:

I watch very few vids on here, but that was great! Congrats on the pocket spill!

I too would be "Over The Moon" with a hunt like that.
Congratulations

CANT BEAT THAT ...

You get an A+ for your coin finding ...but sorry, you get a c- on your barber technique:laughing7:.

Awesome video. I really enjoyed it. Please post a picture or two for those who can't view the video.

Depending on the size the worn silver is probably a shilling. A pretty common find, often they are counter-stamped with various letters or shapes.

Its a great find & not one that I've repeated but its not technically a Hoard, yet. A hoard was deliberately buried, normally in some kind of container. What you have is either a coin spill, or maybe a small purse loss.

Wow amazing hunt and video thanks for sharing. Congrats

pictures? I do not, like many others, just click a youtube.com link. It sounds like an interesting hunt. Thanks.
