I just joined the silver coin club

When out hunting a spot I'd been to several times before and found some wheaties and miscellaneous old stuff, out popped a 1938 mercury dime---my first silver coin!

Congrats on your first silver, if you mix some baking soda and water into a paste just rub it over the coin using your fingers it will take that tarnish off..

Congrats on your first silver. Awesome feeling huh? Most of the silver coins (around here) come out of the ground silver in color, that is a real thrill. As for the baking soda rub, I like mine clean, however, some people prefer them in "as found" condition. Do whatever makes you happy.

Good job, now get out there and find some more of those little rascals!
