It's been "Spooned" people used to take a spoon and tap the edge while they rotated the coin to make a ring.

That's a pretty cool find. But. I didn't want to say anything but last time we went detecting your car sounded like it wasn't running quite right. So when you want to go back to that little school I think I better drive you. ;D

It's kinda weird, my cousin and I was just talking about these the other day.
I seen some of the rings made like this on the forum before... Their pretty cool...

Can you give some details on the ring coin & how it was made never seen any thing like that. By the way what is Mr. washington smoking there HAHA. SASQUASH

Take A silver Coin. Preferably Quarter or Larger. Halves work Best.

Take a Table Spoon.

Now place the Coin Between Your Fingers & Hold it Up on a hard Surface.

Now Tap the Edge Of the Coin, turning continuously.

After awhile you'll see the coin looking like the one above

Then Drill the Center out to fit your finger & use a dremmel to Smooth the Inside where you drilled.

Look around here and other forums enough and you will see a LOT of people make coin rings.

Wish I had the time back I spent in school durring the 60's making these. I could use the time to m/d. Guess my report cards would have looked a little better also.

There is a great article in this May 2005 issue of Western & Eastern on how to make these types of coin rings.
