I normally search cents, but after reading all of ya'lls posts about half dollars I decided to go get some.
After stops at 15 banks I had:
$46.00 in Loose coin
$120.00 in Bank Wrapped coin
$170.00 in Wrapped and "marked" coin
$230.00 in Wrapped coin.
The loose coin had nothing.
The "marked" wrappers had a red X on them and in 2 cases even had the dates that were in the roll written on the wrapper. So I figured some CRH had been through those. I checked them anyway to see if there might be a proof among the mix. No proof, but I did find a 1968 40%.
The remaining rolls yielded 8 more 40% halfs, a 1973S proof and a 2001 that appears to have been struck by a filled die. All of the lettering and date around the obverse is very faint.
