Found a barber half this morning in a park on the other side of town, I've only hunted it 1 time before and not for long but I always figured there was some silver there, I gave it another try and I think I'll go back for sure. I was cherry picking for deep sounding high conductive coins cause you could dig a coin every three or four feet if you really wanted to.

At a place like the park you are at, you sometimes have to remove all that shallow clad to get it out of the way of finding the deep keeper coins. This is a task at some parks as it may take a week of solid diggin to get the shallow stuff out. However this would be one of those places worth putting in the extra work to find things such as that Silver half. The shallow clad mask the deep coins.

I have a private yard that is old and the same way. I have dug over 300 memorials so far from this one yard. I swear someone sat out at night and threw pennies in the yard just to torture some poor fool with a metal detector. I get a ratio of 20 memorials to each wheat I find. I have found a few keeps but have yet to feel like the effort is paying off.

Great looking coin and thanks for sharing, Those big silvers are always a great find in any condition.

HH,

Dave
